Well, this may be my last layout until 2013. :-( That makes me kind of sad, but I need to pack/pick up my scrap room for Christmas. That is going to be QUITE a project. Of course, I had to do ONE MORE layout. I mean, I had too much purdy stuff sitting around, I just couldn't resist. So I grabbed the sketch for ScrapbookSteals.com's MWM Jade 3 and got to work.
Kevin's school had a Christmas concert recently. Though the lighting was bad for picture taking, it was so fun to see him up there singing. We had been hearing the same line over and over from Christmas Jubilation, I was glad to finally hear the WHOLE thing.
One of my Christmas presents (to myself) had been getting the Santa Sacks from October Afternoon. I used elements from Holiday Style I received in the sacks to make this layout about the concert. I also used the Stampin' Up Scoreboard and Diagonal Plate to make the green background paper (with a little SU Illuminate ink around the edges). Kiwi Lane's Paisley Place 3A & 3B and Adorn 3A templates made adding the finishing touches easy.
Hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Cheers!

PGC #22
Hi!
Are you ready for the holidays? I'm sure not. But I will get there. I have no choice, right?
I am really finding that my paper crafting is my sanity during this time. I was happy when Charissa asked The Paper Girls to do a neon challenge this time. I feel like I'm tapping into my childhood with the neon colors, and I love it. When I found some neon washi at Michael's, I knew it was PERFECT for this time around.
For the challenge, I made a card for our neighbor, Ally, who was celebrating her 5th birthday. I used washi to create the background, as well as the 5. I layered washi on some vellum paper and cut it with my Cricut so I didn't have to go back and try to cut those little edges without cutting the vellum.
I hope you enjoyed this quick post today. We'll see you in the New Year for more fun Paper Girls Challenges and lots of other exciting activities.
Cheers!

Kiwi Crew for me!
Hi!
I'm so happy I can finally share a secret I've been keeping for a few weeks. I proud to say I am part of Kiwi Lane's first ever Design Team. Everyone would have chuckled if they saw me when I got the email asking me to be part of the team. We were in the car and I nearly woke my sleeping kids up with my giddiness. I was literally bouncing in my chair!
Kiwi Lane's templates are awesome. They really help speed up layouts - allowing you to see your sketch laid out before you even start cutting paper. You have seen some of my layouts using KLD templates lately. Let me show you one more:
I used Tags, Scallops, Cascade Trails, and Bracket templates to create this layout with some family photos from our trip to Florida this summer. The paper and embellishments are from Authentique's Fresh collection.
Thank you for stopping by! Be sure to become a follower...I will be giving some prizes away very soon!
Cheers!

Meeting Fredbird
Hi!
One of the things I was looking forward to while my hubby was gone was getting some crafting time. With my son home sick for 2 days, this just hasn't happen. So this morning, I declared a little Mama Sanity time!
I've had these photos sitting on my craft table for a few months. I keep trying to fit these into different sketches, but nothing worked. So today, I just went for it! I'm still working on my confidence of doing pages without the safety net of a sketch. In the end, I'm happy with how this came out. The hardest thing for me was to incorporate a signed picture of Fredbird that my son received on a visit from Fredbird to his preschool. So I gave up trying to put it on the page, and "hid" it on the envelope behind the picture of my hubby and son with the Cardinals' mascot. I will also be putting more journaling in the envelope, including how Fredbird "dissed" me because I was wearing a Dodger shirt (in the most funny way possible!).
I am still hoping to sneak a little more craft time in tonight. I still have some projects I want to finish around the house before hubby gets back from his trip.
Cheers!

PGC #21: Lots of Pictures Challenge
Hi!
I hope the past couple weeks have been good to you. We've been on a roller coaster during these past 2 weeks in our house. My husband went from having Achilles surgery scheduled for this past Thursday to starting a new job today (needless to say, surgery was cancelled). It is going to be a big adjustment for all of us after having him home for the past 15 months, but we'll adjust. (Shhh...don't tell him I'm kind of looking forward to him being back to work so I can get a little more crafty time while he is gone. ;-) )
But, let's get back to our regularly scheduled blog post... First off, I want to say thank you SO much to everyone who participated in the Holiday challenge. We had 127 ENTRIES. WOWOWOWOW!!! That's simply amazing and so inspiring to all of us!
The Paper Girls Challenge this time was to use lots of pictures on your layout. I thought this would be a great time to do a layout with the pictures of the "Girls" from the Scrapbook Steals Crop this past October. It was great to meet (or see again, as the case may be), some of the Paper Girls. Sheryl, Amber, Erica, Heather & I were all there. I just wish Charissa, Charity, Judy and Kyla could have been there too! That would have made this page complete!
This layout was made using Studio Calico's Sock Hop kit (November's monthly Club kit) and ScrapbookSteals.com's Coral 9 sketch. I liked how the variety of colors and patterns kind of represent all of our different personalities and crafting techniques.
Thank you for stopping by. I would love to have you as a follower of my blog, if you aren't already. When I hit 100 followers, I will do another prize giveaway. Heck, life has been so unpredictable lately, I might just decide to do a "Surprise Blog Candy" treat. And I hope to have more posts for you come 2013.
Cheers!
