Practical Scrappers: Stamp Around the House

Today's post at Practical Scrappers features stamping, using Frugal Finds from around the house.  I decided to try stamping with a wine cork.  I love the uneven nature of cork, which added a fun touch to the pink background on my all pink layout.

This is what I started with:

After a lot of dipping and stamping, here is the final look:

Using a Spica pen, I framed the stamped portion, added a few layers following the ScrapbookSteals.com Peridot 5 sketch, and viola!

Practical Scrappers: Little Things

Today on Practical Scrappers, the 10 Things team is featuring Tiny Things.  For my card, I used a Cosmo Cricket Glubber (also known as a giant glue dot), to adhere some seed beads I've had in my stash for a long time as the center of the flower.

KLD: Tuesday Tip Time

Happy Tuesday!  I'm up today on Kiwi Lane Designs' Blog with a new Tuesday Tip Time.  I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend.  We started out our weekend celebrating my son “graduating” from kindergarten to 1^st grade.  When I saw the fun stamps and journaling cards from Technique Tuesday, I knew I wanted to document the day (I even reached into my stash of Technique Tuesday stamps to add to what we received!).

After laying out my page, I also thought that this would be a fun opportunity to do one of my favorite stamping techniques – embossing!  There a bunch of different techniques on this page - see if you can spot them all!  Check out the Kiwi Lane blog for more details!

I have to say, I love all the templates featured this month.  There was so much variety to them.  I am pretty happy with how they blended together.  I used my “Live Laugh Love” stamps to create that final touch along the bottom of the page.

 

I’ve been in such a card making mode lately, I thought I would make one more.  I plan to send this card to a friend that needs a little cheering up.

Practical Scrapper Card Sketch

Happy Friday!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful day.  I just put my little boy on the bus for his last day as a kindergartner.  I have mixed emotions about this - I'm sad about him growing up so fast, but I'm happy for him to move on to 1st grade.

Today also marks the first post as a designer on Practical Scrapper's Ten Things Design Team.  I'm very excited for this opportunity.  I hope you will join me on this journey.  There are a lot of great things in store!

PGCB #32: Pretty Poppies

 

Happy Monday!

Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend.  For those of you in OK, KS and other areas hit by the tornadoes last night, I hope you are safe.  Those were some wild storms.

It is hard to believe we are at the 3rd Monday of the month.  Where has time gone?  My little guy will be graduating from Kindergarten on Friday.  Yikes.  Sorry, reality set in here for a minute.  ;-)  3rd Thursday of the month means it is time for a new Paper Girls challenge.  Today it is from the WONDERFULLY INSPIRING Charissa Miller.  She gave us a wonderful sheet of paper from Dear Lizzy's Lucky Charm collection as our starting off point.  There are beautiful shades of navy, coral, pink and cream in this paper.

 

For my project, I decided to create a birthday card.  My husband's mom, brother and sister all have birthday's next week, so needless to say, I am in card making mode.

Growing in Unity - Day 5

Welcome to Day 5 of my Growing in Unity guest designer spot.  I've had a great time sharing some of my creations with you.  When I was trying to decide what I would do for my final project, I thought about doing a scrapbook page, or an altered art project, but instead I thought a thank you card!  It is a thank you card to all of you for visiting me all week.  I love reading your comments.  They are very inspiring.

Yesterday was the third Thursday of the month.  That is when Unity Stamp issues their {Be Inspired} Challenge.  I loved the look of the card sketch, and I thought it would great for my Thank You card.  I also realized that I hadn't done much coloring on my cards this week (if you don't count coloring sentiments).  So I decided to "make my own" background paper for the card using a stamp and a little ink.  Now, I don't claim to be an expert at coloring with pens, by any stretch of the imagination, it was fun to pretend to be a kid for a while.  :-)
