PGCB #91: Stamps

Hi!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful Monday...the first Monday in November.  YIKES!  That means Thanksgiving and Christmas are both around the corner.  I'm so not ready for that...

But, no need to rush time.  I'm going to enjoy crafting time this holiday season.  Including today's challenge on The Paper Girls: Stamping.  All things stamps...  The design team had fun breaking out their stamps to create their projects.  For mine, I grabbed my You've Got This stamp set from Stampin' Up and had fun coloring!

Even my kids wanted to get in on the fun.  I stamped the flower, and let each of them color them as they wanted to.  Here is my 5 year old daughter's take on the stamp set:

And my 8 year old son's.

It was fun having them play along with me and seeing their imagination grow.  Now I hope you play along with us too, over at The Paper Girls.  Amber is our hostess with the mostess and giving away a fun prize pack to one lucky entrant.

Cheers!

On Tuesday, I showed you a card that I was going to stick in my son's backpack on the first day of school in 2 weeks.  Well, I can't leave the little girl out.  She starts Kindergarten this year.  Talk about time flying!  For this card, I wanted "simple" words and fonts that I knew she could read.  So I grabbed my Be You stamps from the Itty Bitty series of stamps.  First I stamped it with Versamark and coated it with clear embossing powder.  After heating the powder, I watercolored over the paper.  I really wish you could see the pearl tones in the watercolors I used.  It is really stunning, just hard to capture on the camera.  I really thing she is going to like the colors, and the beautiful butterfly on the card.

Growing In Unity: Day 3

It is hard to believe that we are half way through my week as the Growing in Unity Gal.  It has been so fun to grab my ink and my stamp and make some projects for you.  Don't forget to comment on all my projects throughout the week for a chance to win a 25 stamp grab bag from Unity Stamp Company!  The links for all the projects are at the bottom of this post.

For today's project, I'm channeling my California girl roots.  It is hard for me to look at surfboard and not smile.  Surf's Up-Totally Cool from Unity is no exception.  I loved this stamp, and the opportunity to color the surfboards a little.  Some fun water paper, and a few dots, and I have another fun card I can use to remind my kids that they are pretty cool in my book.

Growing in Unity: Day 2

Hi!  I'm so excited to bring you my second installment of the Growing in Unity Gal week.  Don't forget to comment on all my projects throughout the week for a chance to win a 25 stamp grab bag from Unity Stamp Company!  The links for all the projects are at the bottom of this post.

School is starting soon, and I wanted to stick a little something in my son's backpack to let him know I'm thinking of him on the first day of school. When I saw the Good Luck stamp from the Good Luck, Remember This, I knew I had the perfect stamp for this.  And again, I reached into my Journaling Card stash to create the background.  A few pop dots and a little twine, and I have quick card.  I'm excited to write a little note in this card for my 3rd grader!

Growing in Unity Week!

Hi!  Welcome to my first day at the Growing in Unity Gal.  I'm excited to bring you new projects each day this week, featuring Unity Stamps.  Today, I will am featuring the Adventurous Itty Bitty stamp set.  I loved the fun balloon stamp.  I colored it with my watercolor pencils for a soft, flying through the air affect.  The cloud paper is actually a My Mind's Eye journaling card, cut down to fit a card front.  The "ad-ven-tur-ous" stamp is actually stamped in the label section of the card.  I'm sure I'm not the only one with a bunch of journaling cards sitting around collecting dust.  My new obsession in crafting is to use the cards to make quick and easy cards.

Comment along all week for a chance to win a 25 stamp grab bag from Unity Stamps!

See you tomorrow with my next project!

Scrapping Our Stash Blog Hop

Hi!

Welcome to the Scrapping Our Stash Blog Hop for February, hosted by Practical Scrappers.  You should have arrived here from Cheryl's blog.   After checking out my project, hop on over to Brenda's blog to see her wonderful project!  A complete list of all participants will be at the bottom of my post.  Be sure to leave a little love for everyone.

I love the idea of the Scrapping Our Stash hops.  We are asked to use items that have been sitting around for a little while...collecting dust.  For my layout, I grabbed some paper by Trinity Paper Company and some basketball rub-on's that I have had in my drawer for a long time.  I think the two blend together for a fun layout.

Thank you for visiting.  Head over to Brenda's blog for your next stop on the hop.

Here is the complete hop list:

PGCB #71: Sparkle & Shine

Hi! Happy 2015! The Paper Girls has its first challenge of the year up, and it is hosted by yours truly.  For the challenge, I want you to show us how you add sparkle and shine to your projects.

Here is my card:

I used AC Glitter Paper along with glitter star from the Becky Higgins/Heidi Swapp Glitter Value Pack to add the sparkly pop to my card.  The star background paper is from the Sale-A-Bration catalog (starting today!!!) by Stampin' Up, called Irresistibly Yours Specialty Designer Series Paper (Item #138635).  It is white paper, with white resist stars.  I used a Metallic Gold Encore Pad (Item #132141) change the background from white to gold and make the stars "shine".  The stamp is from the Banner Blessings stamp set (Item #136720), also just released today by Stampin' Up.

I hope you will join in the challenge.  Make sure you link up your projects on the Paper Girl's site.

Cheers!
