Wow! When Kristy Lee from Scrapbook Steals contacted me to be a guest sketcher for their MidWeek Mojos, I thought maybe she had the wrong girl! The Scrapbook Steals community has so many talented girls involved with it, I couldn't believe it was me. But it was, and I was given a challenge to work with with Pebbles Ever After papers and embellishments. I don't usually work with princess paper, but I was pleasantly surprised by how quickly my design came together - and even though the kit was very, VERY girly, I was still able to do a boy layout too!
To see more of this layout, check out the Scrapbook Steals blog:

There may even be some kits left in their archives if you want to try your hand at this collection.

Happy Bearthday!
I was asked to create some invites for a 3rd year old's camping themed birthday party. I had so much fun coloring all the elements to give them a little pop! I even added a few mosquitos and a little "skeeter spray" to the inside for a little more fun. I only hope the little guy has as much at his party as I had making these!

Looking Forward...
Wow! I can't believe it has been so long since I have posted to my blog. Life has changed since my last post. Instead of moving to Arizona like we were planning, we are moving...well, we don't know where. My wonderful husband is leaving the Air Force on August 23rd. And we will be leaving Great Falls. Right now it looks like we are going to be moving to St. Louis. But that could all change. I am Looking Forward to finding out. Stay tuned for the final outcome!
In the meantime, I have continued to work on my scrapbook and cards. It has been my sanity in all this craziness. I can not believe that ScrapbookSteals.com has put out 52 weekly sketches - and that I have completed all of them. WOW! This was my interpretation of MWM 52. I used 2 shades of blue and 2 shades of brown to make the background paper. Then I used Stampin' Up Elegant Soiree paper to highlight 2 of my favorite subjects, my husband and daughter, looking out over the Pacific Ocean. I also used a combination of Stampin' Up and We R Memory Keepers grommets, snaps and eyelets to enhance the layout.

Thank you for letting me take the time to share this with you. I am Looking Forward to sharing more with you. I hope to eventually get all 52 layouts posted for you here - as well as some cards I have been making. I am also Looking Forward to having a giveaway or 2, so please come back!

Do you ATC?
Spring is almost here...but you wouldn't know it by looking out the window. Snow is coming down pretty good out there! I couldn't resist put a little spring into my crafting today (thank you to hubby for letting me "play").
The first thing I did was my Mid Week Mojo for Scrapbook Steals. I loved the layout the uber talented Kristy Lee came up with this week. I can't believe we are on week 34 for our Mojo's - and that I have done every one of them!!! I decided I wanted to scrap the picture of my "Summer Toes" from my trip to St. Louis last year. I love the flower design. Make me feel so summery. I had to pick papers that would really bring that theme out. I think I succeed there. What do you think?
The Sketch:
My "Take" on it:
Scrapbook Steals is also hosting an ATC swap. I had never heard of an ATC before this, but now I've read about it on a number of other blogs. ATC stands for Artist Trading Cards. The idea is to create small cards (2.5"x3.5") that represents yourself, to share with friends. We didn't have any guidelines on this, other than size. This really made me step out of my comfort zone, since I usually work from sketches or other "inspiration". I feel so lucky to have met a lot of wonderful women through SS that I really wanted to express that in my cards. So I started searching through my stamps to find something that would capture that feeling. Of course, the stamp I picked wouldn't fit in the punch I wanted to use, so I had to color the words by hand, instead of using an ink pad, so I could stamp it in multiple steps. You also probably won't be seeing flowers on my layouts for a little while, after building the flowers for these 16 cards. I really like how these came out. I only hope they like them too.

Open House Teaser
I'm having a Stampin' Up Open House this weekend. I am so excited. This is my first one - to attend, much less host as a Demonstrator. I'm even more thankful for my friend Jane for letting me have it at her house!
If you are in the area, and have few minutes to stop by, please do!
Here is a look at the cards I will have as a Make & Take. All of these cards can be used in so many ways just by changing the sentiment. Like the purse card, you can use it for Mother's Day, Birthday, or Just Because!
And remember, when you place an order from Stampin' Up this month, you can take advantage of Sale-a-Bration and get free goodies! Now who doesn't love free stuff?!? If you can't make it on Saturday, you can always place an order from my website by clicking on the Product tab.

My Scrappy Weekend
The wonderful ladies over at Scrapbook Steals gave us 4 challenges on Thursday, to be completed by Monday at midnight. I can't believe I actually finished all 4, literally at the stroke of midnight, but I did, not to mention birthday cards for 2 special little boys turning 1 this month. Here were the challenges and my take on them.
CHALLENGE 1
Use this sketch to create a page:
Here is my take on it:
CHALLENGE 2
What's Your Secret? The layout was supposed to be about us and something we don't really go around advertising. While I don't hide how I met Dan, it isn't something I advertise either. This was a fun page to do. I got to use my Cricut and some of my Stampin' Up Shimmer Paint (on the flowers). This is truly where our story began...
CHALLENGE 3
Lucky Me! This layout was about something in our life we are lucky to have. We'll I have 2. 1st, of course, is my wonderfully supportive hubby. And 2nd, is my new toy. I had to scrap about it. And yes, Dan did call me a dork for making a page about the camera the day I got it! :-P
CHALLENGE 4
The dreaded NUMBER CHALLENGE! Everytime we have these challenges, Melodee puts out one of these. This was the hardest of the 4 challenges, but I'm so glad I got it done. This was Hailey's first flight, and this page will go into her book. The journaling is supposed to look like the banners that fly behind planes. I'm not sure it came out right, but I tried!
We had to include the following things. And yes, I'm amazed, I got them all there!
10 Metal Embellishments (brads, eyelets, paperclips etc)
9 Inches of Ribbon
8 Letters (chipboard, stickers etc)
7 Non Metal Embellishment (buttons, die cuts etc)
6 Sentences in your journaling
5 Patterned Paper Pieces
4 Solid Paper Pieces
3 Photos
2 Rub On Images
1 Stamped Image
I hope you enjoyed my trip through my crazy 2 days of scrapping. This might be my last full pages for a few weeks while, but I'll be back to making pages as soon as I can! Thanks for letting me share.
